Douglas "Doug" Edwards (born January 21, 1971) is a former American basketball player. He played as a small forward. Doug was chosen by the Atlanta Hawks in the first round of the 1993 NBA draft. He played for the Hawks and the Vancouver Grizzlies during his three seasons in the NBA.

Doug Edwards' Basketball Journey
Doug Edwards was born in Miami, Florida. He went to Miami Senior High School where he was a talented basketball player. In 1989, he was named a Parade All-American. He also played in the McDonald's All-American Game that year.
College Career
After high school, Doug played college basketball for Florida State University from 1990 to 1993. He was a key player for the Florida State Seminoles. He was named to the Second-team All-ACC twice, in 1992 and 1993.
NBA Career
In 1993, Doug Edwards was picked 15th overall in the 1993 NBA draft by the Atlanta Hawks. He played for the Hawks for two seasons. Later, he joined the Vancouver Grizzlies. While playing in Vancouver, he got the nickname "Doughboy." Over his three NBA seasons, he averaged 2.4 points per game.
Coaching Career
After his playing career, Doug Edwards moved into coaching. In 2008, he joined the coaching staff at Kansas State University. He worked with head coach Frank Martin.
In May 2022, Doug took on a new role. He became the Director of Player Personnel and Special Assistant to the Head Coach for the University of Massachusetts Amherst. In this job, he helps with player development and supports the head coach.
Family Life
Doug Edwards comes from a family of basketball players. He has two younger brothers. Both of them also played basketball professionally. His brothers are Steven Edwards (born 1973) and Allen Edwards (born 1975).
