Draco Malfoy facts for kids
Draco Lucius Malfoy is a made-up character from the Harry Potter books, written by J. K. Rowling. He is a student in Hogwarts's Slytherin house, just like Harry Potter. Draco is often seen as Harry's main rival and a bit of a bully at school. In the Harry Potter movies, the actor Tom Felton plays Draco.

Draco Malfoy is described as having a pale, pointed face. He has sleek, white-blond hair and light, icy gray eyes. His eyes often look cold.
Character
Draco Malfoy is shown as a character who tries to get what he wants. He uses magic cleverly and is very ambitious. He often acts like a villain in the story.
Family
Draco Malfoy is the only child of Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy. His mother, Narcissa, is part of the Black family. This means she is a cousin to Harry Potter's godfather, Sirius Black.
Draco's family was one of the first to join the good side after the Wizarding War ended. This was after Voldemort was defeated. Later in life, Draco married Astoria Greengrass. They had one child, a son named Scorpius Malfoy. Scorpius looks very much like Draco.
Story
Draco Malfoy was taught to pick on Harry and his friends. These friends included Ron, Hermione, and Neville Longbottom.
In the second book, Draco insults Hermione. He calls her "Mudblood," which is a very rude name. It means she has Muggle (non-magic) parents.
In the sixth book, Draco becomes a Death Eater. He thought this would make his father proud. But he soon realized it was a mistake. When Voldemort asked him to kill Professor Dumbledore, Draco could not do it.
Instead, Severus Snape killed Dumbledore. Snape had made an unbreakable promise to protect Malfoy. After Dumbledore's death, Malfoy became the master of the powerful Elder Wand. This happened because he disarmed Dumbledore. Later, Harry Potter disarmed Draco, taking control of the wand.
