A Look Back: Dresden's History
Dresden was started in 1888. German settlers gave it its name, inspired by the city of Dresden, Germany.
The first post office in Dresden opened in October 1888. Dresden was also a stop on the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad line.
