The Dumbarton Football Stadium, also called the Marbill Coaches Stadium, is a sports ground in Dumbarton, Scotland. People often call it The Rock because it's right next to Dumbarton Castle. This stadium is mainly used for football games. It is the home field for the Dumbarton Football Club.

The stadium opened in the year 2000. It was built after Dumbarton FC moved from their old home, Boghead Park. The stadium is quite small compared to others in the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL). It is only a short walk from Dumbarton East railway station.

Discovering The Rock: A Stadium's Story

The stadium has one main stand where fans sit. It officially opened on December 2, 2000. The first game played there was against Elgin City, and Dumbarton FC won 3–0. Fans gave it the nickname "The Rock" because it sits close to the famous Dumbarton Castle. The other three sides of the field are open areas without stands.

Who Else Plays or Trains Here?

Besides Dumbarton FC, other teams have used this stadium. The Scotland international team has trained here. They used it to get ready for their home matches. Even Celtic has played games here. Their youth team used the stadium for their UEFA Youth League home games.

In 2023, another football team, Broomhill, started playing their games at The Rock. They moved from a different stadium in Cumbernauld. They will play here until 2025.

More Than Just Football: Other Events

The Marbill Coaches Stadium isn't just for football. It also hosts many other events. People use the stadium for things like wedding parties. It is also a place for business meetings and other celebrations.
