It started in 2014 as BSC Glasgow. This team was linked to Broomhill Sports Club, a youth sports group in Glasgow. In 2021, the senior team became Broomhill F.C. and kept its place in the Lowland League. The club stopped playing on May 30, 2025.

History of the Club

How Broomhill Football Club Started

Broomhill Sports Club began in Broomhill, Glasgow in June 2004. It was a club for many different sports for local children. By 2014, the club had grown a lot. It helped about 700 children play various sports, mostly football.

In 2014, BSC Glasgow F.C. was created. This was a senior football team. It gave young players from the youth teams a way to play adult football. The club joined the Scottish Lowland Football League for the 2014–15 season. In their very first season, they won the SFA South Region Challenge Cup.

Club Achievements and Changes

After their first win, BSC Glasgow kept getting better. They reached the Lowland League Cup Final in 2016–17. They also made it to the South Challenge Cup final in 2017–18. In the 2018–19 season, they won the Lowland League Cup trophy.

The team's success in the Scottish Lowland Football League improved when Stephen Swift became manager. Under him, they finished third in 2017–18. They then came in second place in 2018–19.

On July 1, 2021, the club officially separated from BSC Glasgow. They changed their name to Broomhill Football Club. They kept their spot in the Scottish Lowland League. BSC Glasgow then started a new amateur team.

Partnerships and Final Season

In May 2022, Broomhill F.C. announced a partnership with Open Goal. This is a football media brand. For the 2022–23 season, the team was called Open Goal Broomhill. Simon Ferry, a professional footballer and host of the Open Goal podcast, became the team's manager. This partnership meant Open Goal created content about the club. This included a monthly documentary. In March 2023, the club announced that their partnership with Open Goal would end. Simon Ferry and his assistant coaches left their roles.

In May 2023, the club went back to its original name, Broomhill. They also announced that manager Stephen Swift was returning. Later, they made a five-year deal to move to the Dumbarton Football Stadium. The club hoped to grow its fanbase there. They wanted to make Dumbarton their permanent home.

On May 30, 2025, the club announced it would stop playing. This happened right after they were moved down from the Lowland League.

Where They Played

Early Home Grounds

When the club first started, they shared a home ground. For their first two seasons in the Lowland League, they played at Lochburn Park. This was the home of Maryhill.

Before the 2016–17 season, the club made a deal. They agreed to share Recreation Park with Scottish League One team Alloa Athletic. The club hoped to eventually have their own stadium in Glasgow.

Later Stadiums

From the 2022–23 season, the club played their home games at Broadwood Stadium. This was in Cumbernauld. This move was part of their deal with Open Goal.

For their last two seasons, 2023–24 and 2024–25, they played at Dumbarton Football Stadium. This stadium is in Dumbarton, West Dunbartonshire.
