Durga McBroom is an American singer, actress, and dancer. She is well-known for singing backing vocals for the famous band Pink Floyd. She is also part of the house music band called Blue Pearl. Durga performs in the United States and around the world.

Durga McBroom's Music Career
Durga McBroom started her career as an actress, dancer, and singer. She even had a role in the popular 1983 movie Flashdance. Later, she and her sister Lorelei McBroom joined the legendary band Pink Floyd. They sang backing vocals for the band.
Durga became a very important part of Pink Floyd. She was the only backing singer who performed with them on every show. This was from their 1987 'A Momentary Lapse of Reason Tour' until their last 'The Division Bell Tour' concert in 1994. She also sang at the 1990 Knebworth festival.
Durga's voice can be heard on Pink Floyd's live albums. These include Delicate Sound of Thunder and Pulse. She also sang on their studio albums The Division Bell and The Endless River. In 2001, she joined David Gilmour on his solo tour. David Gilmour was a member of Pink Floyd.
Forming Blue Pearl
Around 1989, Durga McBroom started her own band called Blue Pearl. She formed it with record producer Youth. In Blue Pearl, Durga sang, played some keyboards, and helped write all their songs. Blue Pearl had several hit songs in the early 1990s.
Other Music Projects
Durga has worked with many other artists. She sang backing vocals for the song "Don't Wait That Long". This song was on the James album Seven in 1992. She also sang a duet with Billy Idol on his Cyberpunk album. The song was called "Mother Dawn". Durga wrote this song herself, and it was first released as a Blue Pearl single. She also sang backing vocals on other songs on the Cyberpunk album.
In April 2010, Durga started working with "The End Pink Floyd" show in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She performed with musicians like Guy Pratt and Jon Carin. In October 2011, Durga and her sister Lorelei sang "The Great Gig in the Sky" in Anaheim, California. They performed with the Australian Pink Floyd Show. In 2017, she reunited with Gary Wallis, Scott Page, and Claudia Fontaine for shows in Italy.
Durga continues to tour the world and sing with different bands. She also recorded a second Blue Pearl album with Youth.
In February 2020, she appeared in the film Sammy-Gate. This movie premiered in the Netherlands. Durga and her sister Lorelei also sang on Steve Hackett's album At the Edge of Light. They were featured on the popular song "Underground Railroad". They also sang on "Wingbeats" from his next album, "Surrender Of Silence".
In June 2020, a song called "American Big Top" was released. Durga wrote this song with Graziano Regoli and Vittorio De Scalzi. It was a protest song. Another album, Black Floyd, was released in July 2020. Durga recorded it with her sister Lorelei. This album included both cover songs and new original music. They released it as The McBroom Sisters.

Durga McBroom was married to Mark Hudson from May 10, 2008, until his death on July 5, 2015.
