Dwaine P. Board (born November 29, 1956) is a former American football player and coach. He played as a defensive end in the National Football League (NFL). He is best known for his time with the San Francisco 49ers from 1979 to 1988. Later, he became a successful defensive line coach.

Playing in the NFL
Dwaine Board played college football for the North Carolina A&T Aggies. In 1979, the Pittsburgh Steelers picked him in the fifth round of the 1979 NFL draft. However, they released him before the season started.
Board then signed with the San Francisco 49ers. He spent almost his entire NFL playing career with this team. Over 10 seasons in the NFL, Board made 61 sacks. He also recovered 10 fumbles.
Super Bowl Wins as a Player
Dwaine Board was a key part of the 49ers teams that won three Super Bowls. He helped them win Super Bowl XVI, Super Bowl XIX, and Super Bowl XXIII. These were major victories for the team.
Coaching Career
After his playing career, Dwaine Board became a football coach. He specialized in coaching the defensive line. This is the group of players who try to stop the other team's offense.
He coached for the San Francisco 49ers from 1990 to 2002. During this time, he was an assistant coach and then the main defensive line coach. He also coached for the Seattle Seahawks from 2003 to 2008.
More Coaching Roles
Board also coached for the Oakland Raiders in 2009. He then worked with the Cleveland Browns from 2011 to 2012.
In 2015, he returned to the Seattle Seahawks as their defensive line coach. He stayed with them until 2017. As a coach, he won another Super Bowl with the 49ers, Super Bowl XXIX. This means he won Super Bowls as both a player and a coach!
