Dyron Patrick Nix (born February 11, 1967 – died December 15, 2013) was a talented American basketball player. He played professionally in the famous National Basketball Association (NBA) and also competed in many other leagues around the world.

Early Life and High School Basketball
Dyron Nix grew up in Meridian, Mississippi. He went to Fort Walton Beach High School in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. There, he showed his basketball skills during his high school years.
College Star at Tennessee
After high school, Dyron Nix became a key player for the Tennessee Volunteers college team. He played for them from 1985 to 1989. Standing tall at 6 feet 7 inches and weighing 210 pounds, he was a strong small forward.
Dyron was recognized as one of the best players in the SEC. He earned a spot on the First-team All-SEC twice, in both 1988 and 1989. During his junior year (1987-88), he led the entire SEC in scoring. He averaged an impressive 22.2 points per game. In his senior season, he continued to shine, averaging 21.6 points per game.
Professional Career: NBA and Beyond
Dyron Nix's talent caught the eye of professional teams. In the 1989 NBA draft, the Charlotte Hornets selected him. He was the 29th player chosen overall, in the second round.
He played one season in the NBA with the Indiana Pacers during the 1989–90 NBA season. He appeared in 20 games and averaged 2.0 points per game.
After his time in the NBA, Dyron Nix had a long and exciting career playing basketball internationally. He competed for teams in many different countries. Some of these teams included ALM Évreux in France, Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel, and several teams in Spain like Mayoral Málaga and 7Up Joventut. He also played in Greece for Irakleio. His career showed he was a versatile player who could adapt to different leagues.
Life After Basketball
Dyron Nix was a father. His daughter, Cree, followed in his footsteps and also played college basketball. She started her college career at Lipscomb University. Later, she transferred to the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Sadly, Dyron Nix passed away on December 15, 2013, in Atlanta. He was 46 years old.
