EastPark, Kentucky facts for kids
EastPark is a large area of land in Kentucky, United States, where many businesses and factories are located. It's like a special business neighborhood! This park covers about 1000 acres, which is roughly the size of 750 football fields. Most of EastPark is in Greenup County, Kentucky, but it also touches Boyd County, Kentucky and Carter County, Kentucky.
The Northeast Kentucky Regional Industrial Park Authority manages EastPark. The land for the park was given to Kentucky by a company called Addington Enterprises. This land used to be a strip mine, which means it was used to dig up resources from the ground. After the mining, the land was fixed up and made ready for new uses.
Kentucky used this donated land to build EastPark and a road called the Industrial Parkway (Kentucky Route 67). This road helps connect the park to other important highways like US 23 and Interstate 64. This was a great deal for everyone! The land became useful, and businesses could easily get to and from the park. EastPark is also connected to a port on the Ohio River in Wurtland, Kentucky, through KY 67. This makes it easy for businesses to ship goods by river.
EastPark is part of a larger area called the Huntington-Ashland, WV-KY-OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. This simply means it's part of a big region where many cities and towns are connected, sharing jobs and services.
