East Perrine was a special area in Miami-Dade County, Florida. It was counted separately during the 2000 census, which is like a big count of all the people. Before that, in 1990, it was part of a larger area called Perrine.

Since 2002, East Perrine has become part of the Village of Palmetto Bay. In the year 2000, about 7,079 people lived in East Perrine.

History of East Perrine

The area known as East Perrine officially became part of the Village of Palmetto Bay on September 10, 2002. This meant it was no longer a separate census-designated place.

The name "East Perrine" comes from Henry Perrine. He was an agriculturist, which means he studied and worked with farming and plants. He was given land in this area a long time ago.

Geography and Location
