History of Easton
Easton was first called Eastin. It was planned out in 1854 by General Eastin J. Trader. Later, Governor Andrew Horatio Reeder asked for the name to be changed. He wanted it named Easton after his own birthplace, Easton, Pennsylvania.
The first post office in Easton opened in December 1855. This helped people send and receive mail.
Geography and Climate
Easton is a very small city. It covers about 0.14 square miles (0.36 square kilometers) of land. There is no water area within the city limits.
