Euzebiusz "Ebi" Smolarek (born January 9, 1981) is a famous Polish former professional footballer. He played as a striker or winger. Ebi represented many clubs in different countries. These included the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Spain, England, Greece, and Qatar.
He played 47 games for the Poland national football team. Ebi scored 19 goals for his country. This makes him one of Poland's top goal scorers ever. He was part of the Polish teams that played in the 2006 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 2008. Ebi was also named the Polish Footballer of the Year three times. He won this award in 2005, 2006, and 2007. Today, he is the head of the Polish Union of Footballers.

Ebi's Club Journey
Ebi Smolarek was born in Łódź, Poland. He grew up in the Netherlands. His father, Włodzimierz Smolarek, was also a famous footballer. His dad played in the Eredivisie league and later became a coach. Ebi joined the youth team of Feyenoord in the Netherlands. He worked hard and eventually played for their main team.
In 2007, Ebi moved to Spain. He signed with Racing de Santander. A year later, in 2008, he went to England. He joined Bolton Wanderers on a loan. A loan means he played for them for a short time. He scored his first goal for Bolton in an FA Cup match. However, he did not stay with the club permanently.
After leaving Racing, Ebi played for several other teams. He played for Kavala in Greece. Then he returned to Poland to play for Polonia Warsaw. He also played for Al-Khor in Qatar. Later, he returned to the Netherlands to play for ADO Den Haag. His last club was Jagiellonia Białystok in Poland.

Ebi Smolarek started playing for the Poland national football team in 2002. He was chosen for the 2006 FIFA World Cup. This is a huge international football tournament.
He was a top scorer during the UEFA Euro 2008 qualifying. He scored nine goals, which was more than even Cristiano Ronaldo in his group! Ebi scored three goals in one game against Kazakhstan. This is called a hat-trick. He played in all of Poland's matches at the Euro 2008 tournament.
Ebi made history when he scored two goals against Portugal. Poland won that game 2-1. It was special because his father was the last Pole to score against Portugal, 20 years before! In 2009, Ebi scored four goals in one match against San Marino. This showed how good he was at scoring goals for his country.

Ebi Smolarek comes from a family of footballers. His father, Włodzimierz Smolarek, was also a Polish international player. Ebi was named after a famous Portuguese footballer called Eusébio. Ebi has a son named Mees. His son was born in 2010.
