Eclectic is a small town in Elmore County, Alabama, United States. It became an official town in 1907. In 2020, about 1,193 people lived there. Eclectic is also part of the larger Montgomery area.

Discovering Eclectic's Past
Eclectic was started by a doctor named M. L. Fielder. He practiced something called "eclectic medicine." This type of medicine used different ideas and methods from various healing traditions. That's how the town got its unusual name!
The first post office in Eclectic opened a long time ago, in 1879.
Where is Eclectic Located?
Eclectic is in central Alabama. You can find it at these coordinates: 32°38′29″N 86°2′19″W / 32.64139°N 86.03861°W.
The town is located along Alabama State Route 63. This road goes through the middle of town. It leads northeast about 26 miles (42 km) to Alexander City. If you go southwest about 5 miles (8 km), you'll reach a small community called Claud. Another road, Alabama State Route 170, connects Eclectic to Wetumpka. Wetumpka is the main city of Elmore County, about 15 miles (24 km) southwest.
The town covers a total area of about 4.3 square miles (11.1 km²). Most of this area is land, and a small part is water.
