Edward Daniel, born on June 13, 1990, is an American professional basketball player. He plays for Scafati Basket in Italy. Before becoming a pro, he played college basketball at Murray State University.

Ed Daniel's College Basketball Journey
Edward Daniel was a star player at Woodlawn High School in Birmingham, Alabama. After high school, he decided to play college basketball. He joined the Murray State Racers team in Murray, Kentucky.
Daniel was part of a very successful group of players at Murray State. In his junior year, he was a key starter. His team, the 2011–12 Racers, had an amazing season. They won 23 games in a row at the start! Overall, they finished with 31 wins and only 2 losses.
In his senior year, Daniel played even better. He averaged 13.2 points and 10 rebounds per game. This is called a "double-double" because he got double-digit numbers in two different stats. For his great performance, he was named first-team All-Ohio Valley Conference. This means he was one of the best players in his college league.
Playing Pro Basketball: Ed Daniel's Career
After college, Ed Daniel hoped to play in the NBA. He tried out for several NBA teams. However, he was not chosen in the 2013 NBA draft.
But Daniel's basketball dream didn't stop there! He signed his first professional contract with Pistoia Basket 2000 in Italy. During the 2013–14 season, he averaged 8.9 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.
Moving to New Teams
For the 2014–15 season, Daniel signed with Pallacanestro Varese, another Italian team. Later that season, on February 12, 2015, he moved to Vanoli Cremona.
On July 19, 2016, Daniel signed with an Israeli team called Maccabi Ashdod. He played there for a season.
The next year, on July 4, 2017, Daniel signed with a French team, Champagne Châlons-Reims Basket. He averaged 8.9 points and 5.6 rebounds per game in the French league.
Playing in Greece and Back to Italy
On August 27, 2018, Daniel signed with Rethymno Cretan Kings in Greece. A month later, he joined Peristeri, another Greek team. He ended up playing the whole 2018–19 season with Peristeri.
Daniel then returned to Italy for the 2019–20 season. He played for Fortitudo Bologna, averaging 6.4 points and 3.7 rebounds per game.
On July 25, 2020, he signed with Iraklis in Greece. Then, on August 5, 2021, he signed with Scafati Basket in Italy, where he plays today.
