Edawn Coughman (born July 21, 1988) is a former American football player. He was an offensive tackle, a position on the offensive line that protects the quarterback. Edawn played college football before joining professional leagues. He played for teams in both the Canadian Football League (CFL) and the National Football League (NFL).

Early Life and College Football
Edawn Coughman grew up in East Point, Georgia. After high school, he went to Dodge City Community College. Later, he transferred to Shaw University. There, he played for the Shaw Bears from 2008 to 2010.
During his time at Shaw, Edawn was a very good player. He earned special honors in 2009 and 2010. These included being named First-team All-CIAA. He was also recognized as a Division II All-American in 2009. In 2010, he helped his team, the Shaw Bears, win the CIAA Championship.
Professional Football Career
Edawn Coughman played for several teams in two major football leagues. He started his professional career in Canada before moving to the NFL.
Playing in the CFL
Edawn began his professional journey with the Toronto Argonauts. This team is part of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played in nine games during the 2011 season. He left the team in May 2012.
Playing in the NFL
After his time in Canada, Edawn joined the National Football League (NFL). He signed with the Seattle Seahawks in June 2012. However, he was released by the Seahawks later that year.
In 2013, Edawn signed with the Dallas Cowboys. He was released by them in August. Soon after, he joined the Buffalo Bills' practice squad. A practice squad is where players train with the team but are not on the main roster. He stayed with the Bills until August 2014.
After leaving the Bills, Edawn signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was with them for a short time in August 2014.
Later in 2014, Edawn joined the Washington Redskins' practice squad. He signed a "futures contract" with them, which means he would be on the team for the next season. He was released by the Redskins in May 2015.
Edawn then returned to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in May 2015. He was released again in September but rejoined their practice squad briefly.
In September 2015, Edawn signed with the Houston Texans' practice squad. He was released by the Texans in October 2015. His last team was the Arizona Cardinals, whom he joined in January 2016. He was released by the Cardinals in June 2016.
