Edawn Coughman (born July 21, 1988) is a former professional American football player. He played as an offensive tackle, a position that helps protect the quarterback and block for runners. Edawn played college football before joining teams in both the Canadian Football League (CFL) and the National Football League (NFL).

Early Life and College Football Journey

Edawn Coughman grew up in East Point, Georgia. He went to Tri-Cities High School there. After high school, he started his college football career at Dodge City Community College.

Playing for the Shaw Bears

Later, Edawn transferred to Shaw University. He played for the Shaw Bears from 2008 to 2010. He was a very strong player on the offensive line.

  • In 2009 and 2010, he earned First-team All-CIAA honors. This means he was one of the best players in his college league.
  • He was also named a Division II All-American in 2009. This is a big honor for college athletes.
  • In 2010, the Shaw Bears won the CIAA Championship. This was a major achievement for Edawn and his team.

Edawn Coughman started his professional journey in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He joined the Toronto Argonauts. He played in nine games for them during the 2011 season. He left the team in May 2012.

Playing in the NFL

After his time in Canada, Edawn Coughman signed with several teams in the National Football League (NFL).
