Edgewood is a small town in Indiana, United States. It is located in Madison County, within Anderson Township. Edgewood is considered part of the larger Indianapolis–Carmel–Anderson metropolitan area. In 2020, about 2,053 people lived there.

History of Edgewood

Edgewood was started in 1916. A big car company called General Motors founded the town. They built it as a place for their factory workers to live.

Where is Edgewood?

Edgewood is in the middle of Madison County. The city of Anderson surrounds it on the north, east, and south sides. Anderson is the main city in the county. To the west, Edgewood borders Jackson Township. The town of River Forest is very close to Edgewood's northeast corner.

A main road, Indiana State Road 32, goes through Edgewood. This road is also called Nichol Avenue. If you go east on this road, it's about 2.8 miles to the center of Anderson. Going west-southwest for about 15 miles will take you to Noblesville.

The U.S. Census Bureau says that Edgewood covers an area of about 0.80 square miles (2.08 square kilometers). All of this area is land.
