Edmílson Matias (born on March 26, 1974) is a former professional footballer from Brazil. He played as a forward, which means he was usually one of the players who tried to score goals for his team.

Edmílson Matias had a long and interesting career playing for many different football clubs. He started playing professionally in 1993.
Playing in Japan
One of his early moves was to Japan. From 1995 to 1997, he played for Kyoto Purple Sanga. He even went back to play for them on loan in 1998. Later, in 2000, he joined another Japanese team, Yokohama F. Marinos. Playing in Japan was a big part of his early career.
Back in Brazil
After his time in Japan, Edmílson returned to play for many clubs in his home country, Brazil.
Guarani and Coritiba
In 2006, he joined Guarani. With them, he played in important Brazilian tournaments. These included the Campeonato Paulista, the Copa do Brasil 2006, and the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B 2006.
The next year, in 2007, he signed a one-year contract with Coritiba. He played in the Campeonato Paranaense and helped the team in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B 2007.
Later Career Moves
In 2008, Edmílson played for Ituano in the Campeonato Paulista 2008. The following year, 2009, he moved to Andradas to play for Rio Branco in the Campeonato Mineiro.
In 2010, he joined Monte Azul, a team that was new to the Campeonato Paulista 2010. He continued to play until 2013, showing great dedication to the sport.
