Edmílson Matias (born on March 26, 1974) is a former Brazilian footballer. He played as a forward, which means his main job on the field was to score goals for his team. Edmílson had a long career, playing for many different clubs in Brazil and also in Japan.

Edmílson Matias started his professional football career in Brazil. He played for several teams before moving to Japan.
Playing in Japan
One of his early teams was Kyoto Purple Sanga in Japan. He played there from 1995 to 1997. He later returned to Kyoto Purple Sanga for a loan period in 1998. In 2000, he also played for Yokohama F. Marinos, another Japanese club. During his time in Japan, he scored many goals, showing his skill as a forward.
Returning to Brazil
After his time in Japan, Edmílson came back to play in Brazil. He joined many different clubs, moving around to play in various important tournaments.
- In 2006, he played for Guarani. With them, he took part in the Campeonato Paulista, which is a state championship, and the Copa do Brasil 2006, a national cup competition. He also played in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B 2006, a second-division national league.
