Edsbyns IF is a famous bandy team from Edsbyn, a town in Sweden. The club was started on June 6, 1909. Bandy is a sport played on ice, similar to ice hockey but with a ball instead of a puck.
The bandy part of the club officially became its own separate club on June 28, 2000. Edsbyns IF has played in Sweden's top bandy league, called Elitserien, for many years. They were in the top league from 1945 to 1969 and then again since 1971.

History of Edsbyns IF Bandy Club
Edsbyns IF was first founded in 1909. The bandy section quickly grew to be very important.
Moving to an Indoor Arena
In September 2003, Edsbyn moved into the Edsbyn Arena. This was a big deal because it was the very first indoor arena built specifically for bandy in Sweden. Playing indoors means the team can practice and play no matter the weather. After moving to the new arena, Edsbyns IF won the Swedish Championship final at the end of that season.
International Games and Awards
On March 26, 2004, Edsbyns IF played an exciting exhibition game in London, England. They played against a strong Russian team called Vodnik. The game ended in a 10-10 tie, showing how skilled the team was.
The club's bandy section received the Hälsingland Golden Award in 2004. This award celebrates their great achievements in the sport. Some individual players from the club have also won this award.
Women's Bandy Team
In June 2009, the club decided to pause their women's bandy team for a season. However, they kept supporting girls who wanted to play bandy. They hoped to restart the women's team soon.
On October 4, 2009, a new women's team called Team Hälsingland was formed. This team was a partnership between Edsbyns IF and a few other bandy clubs. Team Hälsingland played together until 2017.
Three years later, in 2020, Edsbyns IF started a new women's bandy team. As of February 2024, this team plays in Norra Allsvenskan. This is the second-highest league for women's bandy in Sweden.
