Starting in Politics
Edwige Diaz first became involved in politics during her college years. She was a member of a group called the Union for a Popular Movement. Later, she joined the National Rally party.
In June 2017, she ran for election to the National Assembly. This is like the main parliament in France. She was a candidate for the Gironde's 11th constituency, which is an area north of Bordeaux. In the first round of voting, she received 23.7% of the votes. In the second round, she got 42.98% but did not win the election.
Serving the Region
Edwige Diaz is also a regional councillor for Nouvelle-Aquitaine. This means she helps make decisions for the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France.
