Edwin Ubiles is a former professional basketball player from Puerto Rico. He was born on November 26, 1986. Edwin played college basketball for Siena College. He grew up in Poughkeepsie, New York. During his four years at Siena, he scored 1,939 points. This made him the third highest scorer in the school's history. He averaged 14.8 points per game.

Edwin's Pro Basketball Journey
Starting in the NBA D-League
In November 2011, Edwin Ubiles joined the Dakota Wizards. This team was part of the NBA Development League, also known as the D-League. The D-League is now called the G League. It helps players get ready for the NBA.
Playing for the Washington Wizards
Edwin played so well that he was chosen for the 2012 D-League All-Star Game. On March 18, 2012, he signed a short contract with the Washington Wizards. This was a big moment for him. He became the first player from Siena College to play in a regular NBA game. His first game with the Wizards was on March 21, 2012.
Rookie of the Year Award
After his contract with the Wizards ended, he went back to the Dakota Wizards. On April 20, 2012, Edwin was named the D-League Rookie of the Year. This award goes to the best first-year player. He averaged 19.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game. He was also picked for the All-NBA D-League First Team. This means he was one of the best players in the league.
Playing in France and Japan
After his time in the D-League, Edwin played basketball in other countries. In September 2012, he signed with Cholet Basket in France. However, he left the team a month later to recover from a foot injury back home. In January 2013, he returned to the NBA D-League. He played for the Santa Cruz Warriors and then the Springfield Armor.
In September 2013, Edwin signed with Kyoto Hannaryz in Japan. He played 50 games for them during the 2013–14 season. He averaged 15.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game.
Playing in Israel and Puerto Rico
In August 2014, Edwin signed a one-year deal with Maccabi Ashdod B.C. in Israel. He played six games there before leaving the team in November 2014. After that, he moved back to Puerto Rico. He played for teams like Atenienses de Manatí and Vaqueros de Bayamón in 2015.
He continued to play in Puerto Rico for Caciques de Humacao in 2016.
Later Career Teams
In December 2016, Edwin joined the Chautauqua Hurricane in the Premier Basketball League. In December 2017, he signed with the Albany Patroons. This team was part of the North American Premier Basketball league. In June 2018, he also played for Leones de Ponce in Puerto Rico. He finished his career playing for the Albany Patroons in The Basketball League.
