Ehrenfeld is a small town, also called a borough, in Cambria County, Pennsylvania, United States. Its name means "Field of Honor" in German. It is part of the Johnstown, Pennsylvania area. In 2010, about 228 people lived there. Long ago, people sometimes called it "Scooptown."

Geography of Ehrenfeld
Ehrenfeld is in the southern part of Cambria County. It sits in a valley near the Little Conemaugh River. To the east, you'll find the town of Summerhill. To the southwest, there is the town of South Fork.
How to Get There
U.S. Route 219 runs through the eastern side of Ehrenfeld. You can get to the town from an exit for Pennsylvania Route 53. This highway, US 219, goes north about 10 miles (16 km) to Ebensburg. Ebensburg is the main town for the county. If you go southwest on US 219, it's about 33 miles (53 km) to Somerset. The biggest city in Cambria County, Johnstown, is about 13 miles (21 km) southwest. You can reach it using US 219 and Pennsylvania Route 56.

History of Ehrenfeld
Ehrenfeld has an interesting place in the history of electricity. In 1901, a big company called General Electric Company built something special there. They built the very first power plant that used alternating current. This type of power plant was important because it helped send electricity over long distances more easily. Before this, it was hard to send electricity far away. This plant was built for the Webster Coal and Coke Company.
