Eizo Yuguchi (湯口 栄蔵, Yuguchi Eizō, July 4, 1945 – February 2, 2003) was a talented Japanese football player. He was born in Osaka, Japan, on July 4, 1945. Eizo Yuguchi played as a Midfielder and was a key player for both his club team and the Japan national team. He is remembered for helping Japan win a bronze medal at the 1968 Summer Olympics.

Playing for Yanmar Diesel
After finishing his studies at Kansai University, Eizo Yuguchi joined the football club Yanmar Diesel in 1968. This was his local team in Osaka. During his time with Yanmar Diesel, the club achieved great success.
Yanmar Diesel won the Japan Soccer League championship in 1971. They also won the Emperor's Cup twice, in 1968 and 1970. Eizo Yuguchi played 66 games for the club and scored 3 goals. He retired from playing in 1972.
Representing Japan in Football
In October 1968, Eizo Yuguchi was chosen to play for the Japan national football team. This was a very special moment for him. He joined the team for the 1968 Summer Olympics held in Mexico City.
At the Olympics, on October 18, Yuguchi played in a match against Spain. Japan won a bronze medal at this competition, which was a huge achievement for the country's football. In 2018, this Olympic team was honored by being selected for the Japan Football Hall of Fame.
Eizo Yuguchi also played for Japan in the 1970 World Cup qualification matches and at the 1970 Asian Games. He played a total of 5 games for Japan and scored 1 goal before 1970.
