El Tabo is a lovely Chilean commune (which is like a small town or district) located in the San Antonio Province. This area is part of the Valparaíso Region. The commune covers about 98.8 square kilometers. El Tabo is well-known as a popular beach spot, especially for families looking for a nice place to relax by the ocean.

Who Lives in El Tabo?

Every few years, countries count how many people live there. This is called a census. In 2002, a census found that 7,028 people lived in El Tabo. There were slightly more men (3,537) than women (3,491).

How El Tabo is Governed

El Tabo is a commune, which is a local government area in Chile. It's managed by a group called a municipal council. This council works to make decisions for the community.

The leader of the council and the commune is called an alcalde. The alcalde is chosen by the people in an election every four years. From 2008 to 2012, the alcalde of El Tabo was Emilio Jorquera Romero. He was part of the PPD.
