Elbridge is a small village located in the western part of Onondaga County, New York, United States. It is about 15 miles (24 km) west of Syracuse. Elbridge is part of the larger Syracuse Metropolitan Area. In 2020, about 921 people lived in the village.

Discovering Elbridge's Past
Elbridge is in an area once known as the Central New York Military Tract. This land was set aside for soldiers after the American Revolutionary War. The first person to settle here was Josiah Buck in 1791. He was a government surveyor who mapped the area. He liked it so much that he brought his family back to live here in 1793.
Elbridge officially became a village in 1848. Over time, as the nearby city of Syracuse grew, Elbridge saw some of its factories close. Its population also decreased before the 1900s.
The Elbridge Village Historic District is a special area in the village. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002. This means it has important historical buildings and sites.
