Early Life and Training
Elix Skipper was born in Roosevelt, New York. Before he became a wrestler, he was involved in kickboxing. He decided to become a wrestler and quit his job as a McDonald's manager. He then went to Atlanta, Georgia, to try out for the WCW Power Plant. This was a special school for professional wrestlers run by World Championship Wrestling.
Professional Wrestling Career
Starting in WCW (2000–2001)
After being accepted into the Power Plant, Skipper started his training. He first wrestled in 1999 at a smaller wrestling show. He made his TV debut on WCW Saturday Night after eight months of training. Later, he wrestled on WCW Thunder and WCW Monday Nitro. He used the ring name "Skip Over" and faced other fast, smaller wrestlers.
In August 2000, Skipper started using his real name, Elix Skipper, and was called "Primetime." He joined a group called Team Canada, led by Lance Storm. Storm had three WCW titles and gave the Cruiserweight Championship to Skipper. He even renamed it the "101 Kilos and Under Title." Even though Skipper was American, he was presented as Canadian. He held this title until October 2, 2000.
In early 2001, Skipper left Team Canada. He then teamed up with Kid Romeo for a tournament. They won the tournament to become the first-ever WCW Cruiserweight Tag Team Champions. This happened on March 18, 2001, at a big event called Greed. However, they lost the titles just eight days later. Soon after, World Championship Wrestling was bought by the World Wrestling Federation.
Short Time in WWF (2001)
After WCW was bought, Skipper joined the Alliance in the WWF. He was then sent to a training area called Heartland Wrestling Association. He trained there for nine months before leaving the company in December 2001.
Wrestling in Japan (2002, 2003)
After leaving WWF, Skipper went to Japan to wrestle for All Japan Pro Wrestling. He wrestled there using his real name, "Dark Guerrera," and sometimes as a masked wrestler called "Extreme Blade."
Joining NWA TNA (2002–2008)
Forming Triple X (2002–2004)
Skipper joined NWA Total Nonstop Action (TNA) when it first started in June 2002. In December 2002, he formed a three-person team called Triple X with Low Ki and Christopher Daniels. They also joined a big group of villains called Sports Entertainment Xtreme.
In 2003, Triple X had a big rivalry with America's Most Wanted. Triple X won the NWA World Tag Team Championship three times. All three members of Triple X were considered champions. Any two members could defend the titles, which was a special rule. Triple X broke up for a while when Low Ki left TNA.
Skipper left TNA briefly in July 2003 but came back in December. He then joined Team USA for two tournaments. Team USA won the World X Cup.
In July 2004, Skipper and Daniels brought Triple X back together. They started feuding with America's Most Wanted again. This rivalry ended in a special match inside a steel cage on December 5, 2004. The losing team had to break up. America's Most Wanted won, so Triple X had to disband.
Diamonds in the Rough (2005–2006)
After Triple X broke up, Skipper wrestled on his own for a bit. In August 2005, he joined a group called "Diamonds in the Rough" with Simon Diamond and David Young. They wrestled as a tag team throughout 2005 and 2006. In February 2007, Skipper left TNA.
Triple X Reunion (2007–2008)
On July 15, 2007, Skipper returned to TNA. He reunited Triple X with Daniels and Senshi (who used to be Low Ki). They had some matches, but the reunion didn't last long. Senshi left TNA in January 2008. Skipper wrestled a few more times before leaving TNA in May 2008.
