About Elizabeth-Ann de Massy
Elizabeth-Ann was born in 1947. Her mother was Princess Antoinette of Monaco, and her father was Alexandre-Athenase Noghès. At the time, her great-grandfather, Prince Louis II, was the ruler of Monaco.
Even though Elizabeth-Ann was born before her parents were married, they later got married in 1951. This made her a legitimate (officially recognized) member of the family and placed her in the line to the throne of Monaco. As an adult, Elizabeth-Ann could represent the Prince of Monaco at official events.
She was the oldest of three children. Her younger siblings were Christian Louis (born in 1949) and Christine Alix (1951–1989). When her uncle, Prince Rainier III, married Grace Kelly, Elizabeth-Ann was one of the four young bridesmaids.
Her Marriages and Children
Elizabeth-Ann de Massy was married two times.
Her first marriage was in Monaco on January 19, 1974. She married Baron Bernard Alexandre Taubert-Natta. They divorced on October 30, 1980. Together, they had one son:
- Jean-Léonard Taubert-Natta de Massy (born June 3, 1974). He is the godson of Prince Albert II. Jean-Léonard married Suzanne Chrimes in Monaco on April 25, 2009. They have one son named Melchior.
Her second marriage was in London on October 18, 1984. She married Nicolai Vladimir Costello, who was a choreographer (someone who creates dance routines). They divorced on March 28, 1985. They had one daughter together:
- Mélanie-Antoinette Costello de Massy (born January 18, 1985).
Her Important Work
Elizabeth-Ann was well-known for her charity work in Monaco. She helped many organizations and causes.
She was the President of the Monegasque Tennis Federation. This organization helps promote tennis in Monaco. She was also the President of the Monte Carlo Country Club, a famous sports club.
After her uncle, Prince Rainier III, passed away, Elizabeth-Ann was no longer in the direct line to the Monegasque throne. However, she remained an important member of the Princely Family. This meant she could still be chosen to rule if there were no direct descendants left from Prince Rainier.
