Elizabeth Azcona Cranwell (born March 10, 1933, died December 4, 2004) was a talented poet and translator from Argentina. She was born in the big city of Buenos Aires. She wrote poems that sometimes explored ideas like dreams and imagination, which is part of a style called surrealism.

Her Life and Work

Elizabeth was also a teacher at the University of Buenos Aires, sharing her knowledge with students. She wrote about literature for a well-known newspaper called La Nación.

She was also a skilled translator, meaning she changed writings from one language to another. She translated books and poems from English into Spanish. Some of the famous writers she translated include Edgar Allan Poe, Dylan Thomas, and William Shand.

Another important poet, Olga Orozco, influenced Elizabeth's own writing style. In 1984, Elizabeth Azcona Cranwell received a special honor called the Konex Award for her amazing work. She passed away in Buenos Aires in 2004.
