Where is Elko?
Elko is found in the northern part of Barnwell County, South Carolina. You can find its exact spot using these coordinates: 33°22′50″N 81°22′46″W / 33.38056°N 81.37944°W.
A main road, U.S. Route 78, goes right through the middle of town. If you go east on this road, you'll reach Blackville in about 6 miles. Going west for 2 miles will take you to Williston.
Another road, South Carolina Highway 37, crosses US 78 in Elko. This highway can take you south about 10 miles to Barnwell, which is the main town of the county. If you head northeast on Highway 37 for about 10 miles, you'll arrive in Springfield.
The town of Elko covers a total area of about 1.05 square miles (2.7 square kilometers). It's all land, with no large bodies of water inside the town limits.
