Where is Elkton Located?
Elkton is in the southeastern part of Giles County. Most of the city sits on the north side of the Elk River. This river flows southwest and eventually joins the Tennessee River.
How to Get to Elkton
You can reach Elkton using major roads. U.S. Route 31 runs through the western side of the city. This road goes northwest about 14 miles (23 km) to Pulaski, which is the main town in Giles County. It also goes south about 5 miles (8 km) to Ardmore, near the border with Alabama.
Interstate 65 is another important road that passes just east of Elkton. You can get onto I-65 from Exit 1 (US 31) south of town or from Exit 6 (State Route 273) at the north end of the city. I-65 heads north about 81 miles (130 km) to Nashville and south about 113 miles (182 km) to Birmingham, Alabama.
