Ellscott is a very small community known as a hamlet in northern Alberta, Canada. It is located about 3 kilometers (which is about 2 miles) east of Highway 63. This places it around 113 kilometers (about 70 miles) northeast of Edmonton, a major city in Alberta.
Ellscott got its name from L.G. Scott. He was a purchasing agent for the Alberta and Great Waterways Railway.
What is a Hamlet?
A hamlet is a very small settlement. It is usually smaller than a village or town. Hamlets often have only a few homes. They might not have many services like stores or schools. Ellscott is a great example of a hamlet.
How Many People Live in Ellscott?
Ellscott is a very tiny place. In the year 2021, only 5 people lived there. They lived in just one home. This was a change from 2016, when 10 people lived in Ellscott.
