Elmhurst is a small, unincorporated community located in Langlade County, Wisconsin, in the United States. An unincorporated community is a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a town or city with its own local government. Elmhurst is part of the larger Town of Rolling.
This community is found near the start of the Middle Branch Embarrass River. It's about 1.5 miles (2.4 kilometers) west of where three important roads meet: Wisconsin Highway 47, Wisconsin Highway 52, and U.S. Highway 45. A railway track, once part of the Chicago and North Western Railway, runs along the west side of the community. Elmhurst sits about 1,476 feet (450 meters) above sea level.
History of Elmhurst
Elmhurst had its own post office starting in 1881. This post office helped people send and receive mail in the community. However, it closed down in 1928. The community was named after a city called Elmhurst, Illinois.
