Ludwig Emilio Buale Coka was born on November 26, 1972. He is an actor from Spain, originally from Equatorial Guinea. Many people know him for his role as Baharat. He played this character in the science fiction and horror movie The Platform, which came out in 2019.

Early Life and Acting Career

Emilio Buale was born in Equatorial Guinea. His family belongs to the Bubi people. When he was six years old, he moved to Spain with his parents and brothers.

Emilio did not plan to become an actor at first. He was studying to be a construction engineer. He also worked as a firefighter. But in 1995, something unexpected happened. A casting director named Paco Pino met him at a subway station in Madrid.

Pino was looking for a Black actor to play a main character. The role was for Ombasi in the movie Bwana (1996). Emilio accepted the offer. Two weeks later, he traveled to Almería to start filming. This was Emilio Buale's first movie role. He acted alongside famous Spanish actors Andrés Pajares and María Barranco.

After his first movie, Emilio kept getting acting jobs. He worked in more films and TV shows. He also performed a lot in the theater. For a few years, he was part of the National Classical Theater Company of Spain. He appeared in many stage plays. These included "La entretenida" and "Amar después de la muerte."

Emilio Buale is a polyglot. This means he can speak many languages fluently. He speaks Spanish, English, and French. He also speaks Bube, which is the language of his people.

He still works as a fireman in Madrid. Interestingly, he has played a firefighter in some of his acting roles. For example, he was a firefighter in the TV series Código fuego (2003). He also played one in the movie A Love Story (2005). And he appeared as a firefighter in an episode of La que se avecina (2007).
