Empire is a small village in the state of Ohio, United States. It is located in northeastern Jefferson County, right next to the Ohio River. In 2020, the village had a population of 232 people. Empire is part of the larger Weirton–Steubenville metropolitan area.

History of Empire Village
Empire has been known by several different names throughout its history. Some of these names include Shanghai, McCoy's Station, and Olive City. A post office called Empire began operating in 1886. The village officially became a village in 1897.

Education for Kids
Public schools in Empire are part of the Edison Local School District. Students in the village attend Stanton Elementary School for preschool through 8th grade. For high school, students go to Edison High School, which serves grades 9 through 12.
Famous Person from Empire
- Don Sutherin is a notable person from Empire. He was inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame for his achievements in football. He also played in the NFL.
