History of Endicott

Endicott was officially started in 1880. It was planned at a special spot where two important railroads met. These railroads were the St. Joseph and Western Railroad and the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad.

The village was named after William Crowninshield Endicott. He was an important person who served as the United States Secretary of War for President Grover Cleveland. His family also owned shares in the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad.
