You can find Enon about three miles north of Wentzville and one and a half miles east of Flint Hill. It's right along Missouri Route P, a local road. A small stream called Enon Branch flows nearby, which eventually joins McCoy Creek.

The History of Enon

The name "Enon" has an interesting origin! It comes from a place called Ænon mentioned in the New Testament of the Bible. This biblical location is known for where John the Baptist performed baptisms.

Before it was called Enon, this community had another name: "Hoeberville." Under this name, a post office was opened in 1879. A post office is where people send and receive mail. This Hoeberville post office served the community for many years until it closed in 1914. The community changed its name from Hoeberville to Enon, but the exact reasons for this change are not fully known today.
