Entrammes is a small town, also called a commune, located in the northwest of France. About 2,249 people lived there in 2016. It is part of the Pays de la Loire region and the Mayenne department. People who live in Entrammes are known as Entrammais.

What's in a Name?
The name Entrammes comes from an old Gallo-Roman phrase, Inter Amnes. This means "between the waters." It's a perfect name because three rivers flow through the area. These rivers are the Mayenne, the Jouanne, and the Ouette. The Mayenne River even gives its name to the department where Entrammes is located!
A Battle in Entrammes
A significant event in the town's history was the battle of Entrammes. This battle took place in 1793. It was an important part of the French Revolution.
