Where the Green-Fly Orchid Grows

The Green-Fly Orchid is an epiphytic plant. This means it grows on other plants, usually trees, but it doesn't take nutrients from them. Instead, it uses the trees for support.

It likes to grow on the branches of both evergreen and deciduous trees. You'll find it in low areas, usually less than 100 meters (about 328 feet) above sea level.

What the Green-Fly Orchid Looks Like

The leaves of the Green-Fly Orchid are wide and shaped like an oval. They can grow up to 10 centimeters (about 4 inches) long. The leaves are also thick and feel almost like leather.

Each plant can produce between 6 and 14 flowers. These flowers are usually a pale green color, sometimes with a bronze tint.
