Eric Samuel André (born April 4, 1983) is an American comedian, actor, and television host. He is also a writer, producer, and musician. Eric André is famous for creating and hosting The Eric Andre Show. This show is a surreal comedy series on Adult Swim.
He has also played other important roles. He was Mike in the comedy series Man Seeking Woman. He voiced Luci in the Netflix series Disenchantment. Eric André also voiced Azizi in the 2019 movie The Lion King. As a musician, he performs under the name Blarf.

Early Life and Education
Eric Samuel André was born in Boca Raton, Florida. His birthday is April 4, 1983. His mother is from New York and has Ashkenazi Jewish heritage. His father was an Afro-Haitian immigrant and worked as a psychiatrist. Eric André identifies as both Black and Jewish.
In 2001, he finished high school at Dreyfoos School of the Arts. This school is in West Palm Beach, Florida. After that, he went to Berklee College of Music in Boston. He studied there from 2001 to 2005. He played the double bass and earned a Bachelor of Music degree.
Comedy and Acting Career
Eric André started his comedy journey in 2003. He is the creator and host of The Eric Andre Show. This show is a funny take on public access talk shows. It airs on Adult Swim, which is part of Cartoon Network. The show is known for its pranks, funny sketches, and celebrity interviews.
He also acted as Mark in the ABC comedy series Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23. He was a guest star on 2 Broke Girls as Deke. Deke was a love interest for Max and a fellow pastry student. From 2015 to 2017, he played Mike in the FXX comedy series Man Seeking Woman.
Eric André voices Luci in the Netflix animated show Disenchantment. His first stand-up comedy special on Netflix was Legalize Everything. It was released on June 23, 2020. In 2021, he created and starred in the Netflix prank comedy movie Bad Trip.
Personal Life and Beliefs
Eric André dated actress Rosario Dawson from 2016 to 2017. In March 2021, he shared that he was in a relationship. He met his girlfriend at a farmer's market. She did not know he was famous until they had been dating for a while.
Eric André describes himself as an agnostic atheist. He also practices Transcendental Meditation.
He supported Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders in the 2020 presidential election. In October 2022, Eric André and fellow comedian Clayton English filed a lawsuit. They claimed they were unfairly searched at Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport. They said it was part of a police program that targeted people based on race. Their lawsuit questioned if the program was legal. The court first dismissed the case, but André and English appealed this decision in January 2024.
