He also played for the Fayetteville Patriots and the Erie BayHawks in the NBA D-League. Before turning pro, he played college basketball at the University of Kentucky.

College Basketball Journey
After finishing high school at Princeton High School in Sharonville, Ohio, Erik Daniels went to the University of Kentucky. He worked hard and earned a spot in the starting lineup during his junior and senior years.
Professional Basketball Career
After the 2004 NBA draft, Erik Daniels was not chosen by any team. However, the Sacramento Kings signed him as a free agent. He played a small amount of time in the 2004-05 NBA season. In 21 games, he scored 13 points and grabbed 18 rebounds. The Kings later released him on October 17, 2005.
Playing in the D-League
After leaving the Kings, Erik Daniels joined the D-League team, the Fayetteville Patriots. In 2008, he was picked by the Erie BayHawks in the 2008 D-League Draft. On February 11, 2009, he became the first BayHawk player to be chosen for the NBA D-League All-Star game. He was named an alternate player for the All-Star game's blue team.
Playing Overseas
Erik Daniels also played basketball in other countries.
- In the 2006–2007 season, he played for Angelico Biella in Italy's Serie A league.
- In the summer of 2007, he signed with Lottomatica Roma for two seasons.
- On March 19, 2010, he joined Hapoel Gilboa Galil Elyon in the Israeli Basketball Super League. With this team, he helped them win the championship in 2010.
- On November 7, 2013, Erik returned to Ukraine to play for BC Odesa.
- On November 29, 2014, he signed with the Argentinian team Quimsa.
