Sharonville is part of the larger Cincinnati metropolitan area. It is located about 13 miles (21 km) away from downtown Cincinnati.

History of Sharonville

People first settled in the area that is now Sharonville in 1788. The community was originally called Sharon.

The village of Sharonville officially became a village in 1911. It then gained city rights in 1962. In 1974, the city council chose a new flag for Sharonville. It was based on a design that won a contest.
