Escaldes–Engordany (pronounced "es-KAL-des en-gor-DAN-y") is one of the seven special areas, called parishes, in the small country of Andorra. It was created on June 14, 1978. This parish is the second largest in Andorra by population, right after Andorra la Vella.
The parish is made up of several smaller areas. These include Escaldes, Engordany, Els Vilars d'Engordany, Engolasters, and El Fener. In 2014, about 13,634 people lived here. Escaldes–Engordany is known for its yearly jazz festival. It shares borders with four other parishes: Encamp to the north, Sant Julià de Lòria to the southwest, Andorra la Vella to the west, and La Massana to the northwest. It also borders Spain to the east, south, and southeast.

Escaldes–Engordany has a mild climate, similar to places near an ocean. The average temperature each year is about 8.5°C (47.3°F). It rains about 799.9 mm (31.5 inches) per year, with May usually being the wettest month.
The warmest month is July, with an average temperature of about 17.3°C (63.1°F). January is the coldest, averaging around 1.9°C (35.4°F). The hottest temperature ever recorded was 33.0°C (91.4°F) on August 16, 1974. The coldest was -21.0°C (-5.8°F) on January 30, 1935.

Post Office Services
Andorra does not have its own national post office. Instead, postal services are handled by either the Spanish Post Office (Correos Espanyols) or the French Post Office (La Poste). The Spanish Andorra Postal Agency in 'Las Escaldes' first opened in January 1928. As of 2020, the Spanish Andorra Post Office is located at 6 Carrer del Prat Gran, Les Escaldes, Escaldes–Engordany. There has never been a French postal agency in Les Escaldes. The postal code for this area is AD700.
Education
The Spanish international primary school, Escuela Española de Escaldes, serves the children in the community.
Famous People from Escaldes-Engordany
Many interesting people have connections to Escaldes-Engordany:
- Pilar Burgués Monserrat (born 1958) is a talented short story writer.
- Antoni Martí (born 1963) was an architect and later became the Prime Minister of Andorra. He held this important role from May 2011 to May 2019.
- Ludmilla Lacueva Canut (born 1971) writes both fiction and non-fiction books.

- Brothers Emili Pérez (born 1966) and Xavier Pérez (born 1968) were cyclists who competed in the 1988 Summer Olympics and 1992 Summer Olympics.
- Xavier Capdevila Romero (born 1976) is a ski mountaineer.
- Ariadna Tudel Cuberes (born 1978) is a road cyclist and also a ski mountaineer.
- David Albós (born 1984) is a professional road racing cyclist.
- Sergi Moreno (born 1987) is a footballer.
- Marc Vales (born 1990) is also a footballer.
- Claudia Guri (born 1995) is an athlete and used to play basketball.
