Espino is a small area, called a barrio, located in the municipality of Las Marías in Puerto Rico. In 2010, about 181 people lived there.
A Look Back: Espino's History
Puerto Rico used to be part of Spain. After the Spanish–American War in 1898, Spain gave Puerto Rico to the United States. It then became a territory of the U.S.
In 1899, the United States Department of War counted the people in Puerto Rico. They found that Espino and another barrio called Chamorro had a combined population of 986 people.
