Etzikom is a small community in Alberta, Canada. It is called a hamlet, which is a type of small village. You can find Etzikom in the County of Forty Mile No. 8, about 20 kilometers (12 miles) east of a town called Foremost. It's located right along Highway 61.

History and Name

Etzikom was started in 1915. Its name comes from the Blackfoot language, which is spoken by some Indigenous peoples in North America. In Blackfoot, "Etzikom" means valley or coulee. A coulee is a type of small valley or ravine, and the name refers to a specific one nearby called Etzikom Coulee.

The Windmill Museum

One of the most interesting things about Etzikom is that it's home to The Canadian National Historic Windmill Centre. This is a special museum that shows off many different kinds of windmills from throughout history. It's a great place to learn how windmills work and how they have been used over the years.

Government and Representation

Even though Etzikom is a small place, it has a representative in Alberta's provincial legislature. This is like a local government assembly where laws are made for the province. The person who represents Etzikom and the surrounding area in this legislature is Justin Wright.
