The Eupsophus contulmoensis is a small type of frog. It belongs to a group of frogs called Alsodidae. This special frog lives only in Chile, which means it is endemic there.

About the Contulmo Frog

This frog was first described in 1989 by scientists Ortiz, Ibarra-Vidal, and Formas. They found it near a place called Contulmo in Chile. It's a unique part of Chile's amazing wildlife.

Where it Lives

The Contulmo frog makes its home in specific places. It likes temperate forests, which are forests that have moderate temperatures. It also lives in freshwater marshes that sometimes dry up. These are its natural habitats.

Why it's in Danger

Sadly, the Contulmo frog is facing big problems. Its home is disappearing because of habitat loss. This happens when forests are cut down, which is called deforestation. When its habitat is destroyed, the frog has fewer places to live and find food. This puts the species at risk.
