The Euskalduna Conference Centre and Concert Hall, also known as the Euskalduna Palace, is a fantastic building in Bilbao, Spain. It sits right next to the Estuary of Bilbao, on land where old shipyards once stood. This special place is a Concert hall, an Opera house, and a big Conference Centre all rolled into one!

History of Euskalduna Palace

The Euskalduna Palace was designed by two architects, Federico Soriano and Dolores Palacios. Building work started in 1994. It first opened its doors in February 1999.

This amazing building has many different areas inside. It works as a place for concerts, opera shows, and large meetings. In 2003, a group called the International Congress Palace Association named it the "world's best congress centre." The building also won a special award called the Enric Miralles award.

The Euskalduna Palace hosts many different kinds of events. These include cultural shows, business meetings, and social gatherings. The main hall, called the Auditorium, has 2,164 seats. It can hold plays, ballet performances, concerts, and opera shows. The building has everything needed for big events, like storage, dressing rooms, and practice areas.

The Euskalduna Palace is in an area called Abandoibarra. It is very close to the famous Guggenheim Museum Bilbao. You can easily get to the palace using the Bilbao tram, Metro Bilbao (Lines 1 and 2), or Cercanías Bilbao trains (Lines C1 and C2). The building is a central part of the city. It is home to the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra (BOS), which started in 1920. The ABAO opera season is also a very popular event held here.
