Evergreen is a small town located in Langlade County, Wisconsin, in the United States. In 2010, about 495 people lived there. The communities of Elton and Four Corners are also part of the town.

Geography of Evergreen

Evergreen is found in the southeastern part of Langlade County. It shares a border with Menominee County to the south. The community of Elton, which has its own post office, is right in the middle of Evergreen. It is located along Wisconsin Highway 64.

The town is about 14 miles (22.5 km) east of Antigo, which is the main city of the county. It is also about 6 miles (9.7 km) west of White Lake.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town of Evergreen covers a total area of about 36.1 square miles (93.6 square kilometers). Most of this area, about 35.7 square miles (92.4 square kilometers), is land. The remaining 0.5 square miles (1.2 square kilometers) is water.

The Evergreen River flows through the town. This river starts at Flora Lake, which is in the northeast part of Evergreen, near Four Corners.

People of Evergreen

In 2000, there were 468 people living in Evergreen. These people lived in 181 households, and 135 of these were families. The town had about 13 people per square mile. There were 218 housing units in total.

Most of the people living in Evergreen were White (about 97.65%). A small number of people were Native American, Asian, or from two or more races. A very small percentage of the population was Hispanic or Latino.

About 29% of the households had children under 18 years old living with them. Most households (64%) were married couples living together. About 23% of all households were made up of individuals living alone.

The population was spread out by age. About 27% of the people were under 18 years old. About 16.5% were 65 years old or older. The average age of people in Evergreen was 42 years.
