Excelia is a special kind of school in France called a "Grande Ecole." It's a top-level place for higher education. It started in 1988 and was first known as Groupe Sup de Co La Rochelle. Excelia is a private school that doesn't make a profit. It works with the La Rochelle Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI). Excelia is also part of a group called the Conférence des Grandes Écoles. Its Business School is one of only about 100 business schools in the world with a "triple accreditation." This means it meets very high standards.

A Look Back at Excelia's Journey
Excelia started in 1988. It became a permanent member of the Conférence des Grandes Écoles in 2005. This shows it's a well-recognized school.
In September 2016, Excelia took over a big part of the ESCEM Business School. This school was located in Tours and Orléans. ESCEM then became a full part of Excelia.
Today, Excelia has 5,000 students. It also has nearly 40,000 former students, called Alumni.

Where Are Excelia's Campuses?
The main campus of Excelia is in La Rochelle. There are also three other campuses in Tours, Orléans, and Paris.
Excelia also offers some of its programs in other French cities. These include Niort, Rochefort, Angoulême, and Cognac.
Beyond France, Excelia has two partner campuses overseas. You can find them in New Rochelle, NY, and Beijing.
What Does "Accreditation" Mean for Excelia?
Accreditation means a school has been officially checked and approved. It shows the school meets high quality standards.
Official Approvals for Excelia
Excelia is approved by The French Ministry of Education. This is the main education authority in France.
Excelia Business School has special approvals too. It has been EFMD-EPAS accredited since 2011. It also got AACSB accreditation in 2013.
The "Triple Crown" of Business Schools
By summer 2020, Excelia Business School earned the "triple crown." This means it has three major international accreditations. Only about 100 business schools worldwide have this "triple accreditation." It shows Excelia is among the best business schools globally.
Special Accreditation for Tourism Programs
Excelia Tourism School has a special TedQual accreditation. This is given by the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO). It applies to all its programs in Tourism Management.
Excelia Tourism School is the first and only French school to get TedQual accreditation. It has this for both its Bachelor and MBA programs.
How Excelia Ranks Among Top Schools
School rankings help show how well a school performs compared to others. They look at things like teaching quality and student success.
In 2024, the Financial Times ranked Excelia's Masters in Management program. It was placed 30th in the world.
Excelia Business School (which used to be called La Rochelle Business School) has been in the Financial Times ranking of European Business Schools for a while. Its rank has moved between 76th in 2014 and 52nd in 2024.
