Club History
The idea to combine the two clubs, 1. FC Bamberg and TSV Eintracht Bamberg, started in 2005. At first, the plan didn't get enough votes from the TSV Eintracht members.
But after more talks, in January 2006, Eintrachts members strongly agreed to the merger. FC Bambergs members also agreed in March. So, the new club, FC Eintracht Bamberg, was officially formed.
The new team started playing in the Bayernliga, which was the fourth-highest league at the time. They did surprisingly well, finishing 5th in their first season. The next season, they aimed for a top-four spot to get into the Regionalliga Süd. They finished 5th again. However, because some other teams had problems, Bamberg still got to move up to the Regionalliga.
In the 2008–09 Regionalliga season, the club finished in the middle of the table. But at the end of the 2009–10 season, the club faced financial difficulties and had to close down.
Right away, a new club was started called FC Eintracht Bamberg 2010. This new club took over and began playing in the Bayernliga for the 2010–11 season.
At the end of the 2011–12 season, the club finished well enough in the Bayernliga to qualify for the new Regionalliga Bayern, which became the fourth-highest league. They played there for a few seasons, finishing 13th and 10th.
However, in the 2014–15 season, the team finished last and was moved down from the Regionalliga to the Bayernliga. The next season, they finished last again in the Bayernliga and were moved down to the Landesliga. In March 2016, the club had financial problems once more.
Despite these challenges, the club has continued to play. In the 2022–23 season, they finished 1st in the Bayernliga Nord and were promoted back to the Regionalliga Bayern.
Home Stadium
FC Eintracht Bamberg plays its home games at the Fuchs-Park-Stadion. This stadium was also the home ground for 1. FC Bamberg before the clubs merged.
The stadium first opened in 1926. It was made bigger in 1938 to hold 22,600 fans. The most people ever to watch a game there was 27,000. This happened on May 2, 1964, during a game between Germany and France.
