F.C. Wacker Innsbruck is a football club from Austria. It was started in June 2002. This happened after an older club, FC Tirol Innsbruck, had money problems and closed down. Many fans see F.C. Wacker Innsbruck as the new version of the old club, even though legally it's a brand new team.

About F.C. Wacker Innsbruck

When the club first started, it played in the Regionalliga West, which is the third level of Austrian football. They were able to start at this level because they teamed up with another club called WSG Wattens. In just two seasons, they played well enough to move up to the Bundesliga, which is the top football league in Austria!

In the 2006/07 season, they almost got sent down to a lower league. But they were saved because another team, GAK, had money problems and was removed from the league. However, the very next season, F.C. Wacker Innsbruck did get sent down to the Erste Liga, which is the second level of Austrian football. But they didn't give up! In 2009, they won the championship in the Erste Liga and moved back up to the Bundesliga.

The club also has a second team, called FC Wacker Innsbruck Amateure. This team plays in the Regionalliga West, which is the third level of football.
