Fairfield: A Historic Spot
- Fairfield is a small community where M-52 and Fairfield Road meet.
- It was first known as Baker's Corners. This name came from three brothers, Moses, Orin, and Joseph Baker, who bought land there in 1831 and 1832.
- A post office opened in 1835, and Orrin Baker was the first postmaster.
- In 1842, the community's name changed to Fairfield, just like the township. The post office closed in 1921.
Jasper: A Railroad Town
- Jasper is another community located on M-52, about one mile south of Fairfield.
